It’s getting colder out there… What better way to keep warm than to snuggle up with a good book while wrapping those icy fingers around a warm cup of hot cocoa! I have a three-ingredient hot cocoa recipe that will warm you to your core, but it’s the secret topping, shared with me by my next-door neighbor that will have your heart pattering! Want to know what it is? Read on!

In a bowl, add 2 cups instant dry milk, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa, and a generous 1 cup of turbinado sugar. Mix dry ingredients until well combined. Add to mason jars with a bow and hand out the Christmas cheer to everyone you know!

But when you make your own batch, here’s what will send this over the edge: my next-door neighbor told me that she adds marshmallow creme to the top. (Lord have mercy…) You can buy it prepackaged and spoon it over your hot cocoa. Add a little cinnamon-sugar sprinkle and you’ve got yourself a festive drink suitable for Mr. Claus himself!

Marshmallow Creme comes in a container at the grocery store (non refrigerated aisle).
